A Global Stage for Women Innovators
On July 5, 2025, during the BRICS Business Forum in Rio de Janeiro, the BRICS Women’s Startup Contest—an initiative by the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) in partnership with Brazil’s SEBRAE—unveiled its winners. The contest identifies and honors women-led startups with high potential for social, economic, and environmental impact, across vital sectors like agriculture, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
Among the 18 projects selected from over 1,000 applications, Rituparna Das of Arosia Water (Hydrotec Solutions Pvt Ltd) earned a coveted Scale‑up recognition in the Sustainable Development and Climate Solutions category. Her project: an impressive deployment of IoT-enabled, solar-powered water kiosks that bring clean water access to underserved communities.
